Hi my name is Erika Ellison and I am running for senior student council! I have been a part of the Murphy community for three years now, and I was previously on student council sophomore year. I am running again for senior year to do my best to bring out more spirit, unity and communication to help make our last year at murphy totally hyped and to be remembered! In this letter I hope to tell you a little more about myself and why I believe I am qualified to be your senior student officer. I hope to grow my servant leadership and do everything in my power to make a difference and lasting impact on the school and class of 2019 for our final year here at murphy.
I am involved in many sports and activities in and outside of school. I have been in the art class at murphy for two years, but I have painted at home all my life. I’ve played the piano for 10 years, and odds are that I’m always carrying a book under my arm. Whenever I’m able to get somewhere out of state that doesn’t rain 8 days a week, I always go out to surf, but when its cold and snowing I’ll be at Stevens Pass shredding like Shaun White (but with skis..). I’m in love with the outdoors from hiking to mountain biking, and I have been able to see and experience fascinating parts of Washington in the mountains and in other parts of the world- living life to the full and reflecting around God’s great creations is prevalent in my life. At school I ran with the cross country team freshman year and I have been a part of the amazing Murphy girl’s soccer team since I was a sophomore. And as many of you know, I play a little bit of lacrosse. I am a part of the Snohomish girls program and will be playing for Saint Francis University in 2019, but I was also able to help be a team manager for the AMHS boys lacrosse team. I love team sports- working together for a common goal and dream and everyone brings a different talent to the table. I promise you that I will bring that desire and drive with me that I have learned from sports to student council for the senior class with the other officers. I also want to bring the hype and unity that is found in team sports. Our senior class is a team, we have been for four years. Each and every one of you contributes something unique and special to this school and I want to bring out the diverse qualities of our student body into our last year here, and to express the importance of unity and spirit. We are all leaders in one way or another and we need to all do our best to bring out that hype to the other classes. You can count on me to plan events for our class motivated by the ideas from the senior student body. I want your voices to be heard and recognized.
I have a lot of ideas for next year, especially for Homecoming, as the senior student council will be planning for the dance. But you will be hearing more about my ideas during the speeches, and I hope that you will be able to see the passion and change I want to bring and implement! I am very dedicated and driven when it comes to getting things done, and my goal is to make next year at AMHS exciting and to be remembered.
Thank you everyone,
Erika Ellison J
Hey AMHS!
My name is Mary Grossenbacher and I am running for class office. I am involved in volleyball and softball, I love playing team sports because they keep me active as well as building better friendships and getting closer to people I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I am also a part of the AMHS mock trial team, I’ve been doing mock trial since middle school and I am really glad that I had the opportunity to continue with the team at Archbishop Murphy. This year I was a part of NHS, I loved being able to help others with their school work and any classes they were struggling in. I want to run for class office because I feel that it would be a good leadership opportunity and a way to end my high school experience with a bang. I have never run for class office before and I feel that this is a great way to try something new and to challenge myself with something I’ve always wanted to do before my high school experience is over. I have many great ideas to improve next school year that I can’t wait to put into use. I hope that will be able to help anyway I can including helping plan events and planning tolo.
Dear AMHS juniors,
My name is Jade Liang, and I am running for senior student council. I am an international student and I transferred to Murphy for my sophomore year. Two years later, I consider Murphy my second home, and I want to bring unforgettable memories to all seniors next year.
I would make a wonderful officer because I actively participate in school activities. I play girls tennis, am Deca member, and engage in Math Club. I am one of the leaders of Asian Culture Exchange Club. Because of my extra curricular activities, I have the ability to listen to people’s advice or ideas, and combine them with my thoughts to achieve great things. Academically, I perform well in all my classes and I am a member of National Honor Society. I am honored to be an outstanding Social Study Junior, and I am ready to be a leader next year.
Putting a lot of efforts into study, I recognize the responsibilities. I will never give up when I face difficulties. I believe I can bring excitement, satisfaction, and happiness to all. My goal is to inspire, encourage, and influence you positively. I will make a comfortable and memorable last year of high school for us, and together, we can construct a better campus.
Thank you!
Jade Liang
Students of AMHS,
My name is Gabi Koch and I am running for senior class office. I think the most important things to know about me is that I play premier soccer, I love to work with kids, I love to travel, and I rarely do anything I don’t think is fun. That is why I am running for student council. I want to have fun and make sure senior year is fun for everyone. I try to consistently be involved at AMHS. I have been a member of the varsity soccer team since freshman year. I was a team captain during my junior season and will be again for my senior year. I loved soccer so much I decided to try another sport this year, softball. This was fun and relaxed for me. As well as participating in sports, I also was the boys soccer team manager last year. I took stats during the games and helped the coach when needed. I am in NHS where I get to help other students learn. I am in DECA, a business competition held every year with other schools. I am an ambassador as well. I love this because you get to host shadow visitors and go to the open houses and tell others about the school. Although I do not have a performing arts background, mainly because I do not have a musical gift as some of you do, I love to go watch all the great musicals, gong shows, and plays that I can. Throughout all these interactions with different people at AMHS, I have met so many amazing people. I hope that next year, we can grow together as a class and make it a fun senior year. I still can’t believe we’re going to be seniors. Let’s make our last year our best year!
