The 2018 ASB Election Season is here! Read all about your ASB candidates in their letters down below, written to the students of Archbishop Murphy High School.
Cathleen Barron
Dear Students of AMHS,
I am so excited to be running to be a part of your ASB team of 2018-2019! I know that together we can make next year an absolutely amazing year.
Let me give you a few facts about me that might help you to get to know me better. I run cross country and track. I sing in choir and Choral Aires, as well as perform in the musical. I also am an AMHS Ambassador and an NHS officer, along with a member of the Kairos XVI leadership team. I’ve always had a desire to lead. From Student Council in middle school to being a leader at Vacation Bible School camp in the summer to being an ambassador and a tutor at AMHS, I constantly look for opportunities to help lead others. My main focus as a member of ASB would be on YOU. You deserve to be heard. One of my biggest and most important goals would be to make sure that your ideas, thoughts, and concerns are all heard and taken into consideration. Every single person in this student body has incredible ideas and I know that if we all came together to share them we could do something great! As a part of ASB I would always be open to listening to any ideas and taking those to meetings so that they have the chance to become a reality! I hope you guys are as pumped as I am for next year because, with help from all of you, it’s going to be amazing!
Go Cats!

Tori Campbell
Hey AMHS!
My name is Tori Campbell, and I am running for ASB. I am hoping that through this letter you will have a better understanding of who I am if you don’t know me already. Many of you may have seen me around, as I like to stay involved. I am a part of the cross country, basketball, and track team. I am an ambassador, in which I enjoy having the opportunity to work open houses and introduce incoming students to the school. I am also a member of NHS, where I am able to help out other students with their studies. Finally, I am a French Club Co-President. At these meetings, I enjoy getting other students to participate in cultural activities and be able to learn more about them. I believe it is important to stay involved with extra-curriculars because it’s a great opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. From these various activities, I have formed many friendships and pushed myself to new limits. I try to carry myself daily with a positive attitude and be a friend to all. I enjoy volunteering and helping others, as I went on a mission trip to Haiti over the summer, and I plan on going back this winter. I want to take what I learned on this trip and apply it to our school, by helping others become servant leaders. Based off my leadership skills and positive attitude, I hope you all think I am qualified for this position. I have a few ideas for next school year, as I have a goal of making it a fun, memorable year. However, you will have to wait for my speech next week to learn more about them! I am also always open to hearing your recommendations and will do my best to put your ideas into place. My goal is to make all of you happy and excited about AMHS! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks everyone,
Tori Campbell
Emma Feeney
This letter is about me, Emma Feeney, a candidate running for ASB. For those who don’t know me I am a junior and have been at murphy since my freshman year. A personal quality about myself is that I am outgoing. I have no problem talking to strangers or meeting new people. I enjoy sports and watching sports as well. I play volleyball year round. On top of that a not well known fact about me is that I participated in drama, singing and acting since I was age 3 to 12. This is relevant because I have a certain love for the musical and arts. I also am apart of many different clubs around school such as student council, NHS, and Deca. My favorite activity to do regarding murphy would be dressing up for games and cheering our team on. All of these reasons bring me to want to try ASB. I have been on leadership throughout my entire high school career but mainly in the background. I have hung posters, ran events, and come early to school during many late starts. I decided that instead of sticking to student council I would take a shot at ASB because of what I want to accomplish for the school. I have many ideas that I think will take away the image that school isn’t joyful. I want to reinvent the idea of school spirit. I also am not afraid to speak in front of crowds and I think that will help me to lead assembly’s with excitement. I want to be apart of creating the image that students see while at murphy. I want to set a standard of excellence, excitement and leadership throughout all of murphy and I feel that running for ASB sets me up to accomplish that.

Max Henderson
Dear Student Body,
My name is Max Henderson. I have been a part of activities involving Murphy since freshman year. I did student council for 2 years, have played boys soccer for 3 years, I played football this year and I was a part of the acapella club freshman year. I feel that I am an approachable person and enthusiastic. I feel that in these ways I can lead. I can create an atmosphere around Murphy of school spirit and acceptance, more than there are already is. The reason I was interested in student council and now ASB is because of my family. My oldest brother was on ASB his senior year and he left behind a legacy of leadership and school spirit. I want to join ASB because I want to bring back his legacy and create my own. I want to use my leadership skills, personal qualities and participation at Murphy to allow me to be a great ASB member.
Anthony Damitio
Dear AMHS Students,
My name is Anthony Damitio, and I am running to be one of your ASB officers next year. I am sure a lot of you have seen me around campus as I pretty much live here, what with class office, tennis, baseball, DECA, and most importantly, ping pong club. For those of you who don’t know me, I am one of the few gingers in the junior class, which is a big plus right off the bat. Outside of school and sleeping, about 90% of my time is devoted to sports and music.
While I only play two sports competitively, you’d be hard-pressed to find one I don’t enjoy. I played basketball and soccer for a long time, and I am always ready for an ultimate Frisbee game or ping pong match (I keep my paddle in my backpack in case the need ever arises). I believe that my love of sports and all things athletic show my competitive, fun-loving side. As your ASB officer next year, I would love to carry this passion and energy into making the school year as fun as possible.
My other passion is music: listening to it, playing it, or creating it, I love it all. Some nights when I don’t feel like doing my homework, I’ll pick up my guitar and play for a few hours instead. My favorite artist and my doppelganger is Ed Sheeran, but as a lover of music, I don’t stick to one genre. Because music is an escape and an experience, I try to branch out to experience as much as I possibly can. This is another good indicator of my personality. I’m outgoing, I’m a thrill-seeker, I’m never satisfied with the status quo. I want to do something different, something new whenever I get the chance.
In the coming weeks, in an effort to connect more with all you students here, I will be trying to meet as many new people as possible. So don’t be alarmed if you see me in the hallway and I introduce myself out of the blue. I promise I’m not weird. Actually, that’s not true. I’m a little bit weird. Ask anyone.

Holly Sudol
Hey Murphy students!
My name is Holly Sudol and I am running to be an ASB officer. You may know me from
cheering at football or basketball games, performing on stage for musical, or seeing me goof around in the halls. I have been on class office since my sophomore year and it has been a blast. This year I have worked on painting posters, setting up for school events, and planning prom with my fellow Junior class officers. I hope to get elected so I can continue doing these activities along with much more! I know that I can make every assembly exciting and interactive! Along with this, each student, sport, and club deserves special recognition and I want to let every voice be heard. We have all heard how Murphy is a community, and I want to increase that attitude throughout the school. Next year I will be a senior, but I want it to be a special and memorable year for every grade. If elected, you can count on my complete dedication and positivity towards my goals, your goals, and making the school somewhere everyone is happy to attend.
Thank you for reading!

Christine Yen
Dear all,
Hello! I am an international student from Taiwan named Christine Yen. The motivation for me to join the election was because AMHS has become my second home, and I wanted to contribute to the school in order to keep AMHS the fantastic place that it is. Since I am one of the junior class officers, I do really enjoy devoting my time and energy to the school. I like how officers gathered and discussed plans for the prom and all the other school activities. I think all of the students deserve the best campus, so I hope I can be one of the ASB officers in my senior year in order to achieve my goal.
I am an outgoing person who loves to be friends with everyone. Since I have played basketball and tennis in my junior year, I have become friends with a lot of great people. Being part of the mock trial and robotics clubs also enabled me to be aware of how friendly every student is on the campus. I am also a responsible person who take my duty seriously. One of the talents I will bring to ASB is to be detail-oriented, I am organized and I love details. I always finish what I am assigned. Lastly, I am a creative and ambitious person who likes to see things outside of the box and take challenges. The fundraising of the bubble milk tea is a great example of this. Since I enjoy sharing my culture with all my friends in the school, I came up with this idea and discussed it with my club members. I love to try things that people have never ever tried or even thought of.
Due to all these reasons, I do really want to contribute to school because this is our home away from home. If you have questions either for me or about who I am, do not hesitate to come to me because I love getting to know make more friends! I am always willing to answer questions since I strive for being cheerful and friendly. Please vote for me as one of the ASB officers on April 20! Thank you!
Regards,
Christine Yen
